how I processed the death of a close family member

I recently lost my father-in-law Gary to cancer. From diagnosis to his passing occurred within a week’s time. Far too quick to fully grasp everything that happened and really let the emotions soak in. Perhaps this post is yet another way I am working through it.

I process death a bit differently than most people. To me, death is not a scary thing to fear, but more of a coming home to our original selves. I used AI to create the moods and visions I was having during my daily hour-long meditations throughout his passing.

Prelude: The Dream

Here are a series of lucid moments that surrounded the time before, during, and after the recent passing of my father-in-law Gary. It started a month before my father-in-law passed away when I had a very vivid dream of him lying in a bed at a hospice surrounded by close family members. Nothing was said but the feeling was he was going to pass at any moment. 3 weeks after that he was diagnosed with cancer and then died abruptly (and thankfully) one week later.
